Resident should have started shutting the door as soon as the presumed-immigrant made it inside. He also should have used the word “trespassing”–“You’re trespassing. Leave the property. You’re trespassing.”
Would they have listened? No. But using legal terminology and being clear could help in a lawsuit.
Good on him for recording and helping whoever it was get inside, at least.
