It’s one thing to say it doesn’t matter, it’s another to actually try to go out and make it not matter, because the way our society works right now - especially in the last few years - it absolutely matters. The only way it’s going to change is if we go out and fight to earn equality for everyone, and even when we do that we’ll still need to be vigilant to make sure shit like this doesn’t start happening again.
