Is there a list of highly recommended and trustworthy android apps, both FOSS and proprietary?

I see some posts but there must be a community approved list that is periodically updated.

    Too broad of a question, so either the person needs to pick just a few ones, or to spend a few hours writing an answer. I’d have quite a few suggestions, but likewise, can’t think of any I’d pick over others, and don’t want to spend a few hours again.
