    Android customization culture peaked around 2016 and has been declining since. Every major change since then has been toward iOS-style lock-in. Custom ROMs got harder to install, bootloader unlocks got restricted, Google Play Services became more intrusive. The people who stayed are clinging to what works, not riding a wave.

        If this is a trend, hopefully they’ll bring back ir blasters and replaceable batteries next. And halo controls, please baby Jesus, let us have halo controls again.

    airdrop, while proprietary, seems to be a pretty stable and reliable protocol considering its backwards compat (from iphone 5 to latest) and usability… recently heard google started supporting airdrop with iphones on their phones, maybe can airdrop itself just be used instead of just a ‘similar’ one…?
