Very unfortunate choice to use Plex, which has been collecting telemetry on its users since 2017:

That type of service is pretty close to the top of the list when it comes to things I demand privacy for.

But this is a cool project! Looking forward to Jellyfin support.

Thanks, this is good to know. I’m in the process of upgrading my media setup and am playing around with Jellyfin to replace Plex. I’ve been reluctant to commit since Plex is easy and I have a lifetime pass, but this data collection is a great reason to finally be done with Plex

Looks cool! I’ll play around with it.

One suggestion that would solidify this for me: let me display subtitles and export as a gif.___

After jellyfin super is added, I think it might be useful to have a way to just point it at an smb share and select what to clip from there.

This project shares nothing with that other project. It is designed to be a companion app to your media server. Currently only supporting Plex, it will show you the currently active video.

The pipeline for me is something like

      • Watches TV show
      • Wants make a clip in the moment
      • Opens Cliparr

The alternative required downloading the video from the Plex web client, and then manually editing the full video file in local editing software. If people are interested, adding Jellyfin support should be very simple, I just do not currently run an instance of Jellyfin

Oh, this sounds cool, +1 for adding Jellyfin (since I’m not using Plex).
