It is a hobby for most emulator developers. It is probably far too annoying for many people to sacrifice time to host everything themselves in addition to developing the emulator. Especially if Nintendo is not interested in the emulator.
It’s a 3DS Emulator not A Switch Emulator. By your logic, all Emulators should leave Discord and Github.

Good question. I guess programming GBA Emulators is not as hard as 3DS/DS/PS1 etc. so it’s probably for learning purposes. It’s relatively easy and you get good results without getting frustrated to much. There are also a lot of NES and SNES emulators.
I was just trying to be funny. I personally mostly share Fan Games like Pokémon Uranium and Plants vs zombie neighborhood defense etc., and it’s perfect for that. Big AAA Games take way to long to Download.
