I’ll add it now. Thanks!
I’ll add it now. Thanks!
Game achievements. Apparently now the app is being killed, but its features will be integrated somehow in the Play Store itself.
Thanks. It seems like the message you see might be due, while misleading, to the device hardware rather than it’s OS version. At least that’s what came up as one of the possible reasons after a web search.
One more reason to keep “outdated” games still on the list, as they might work for someone!
Says it’s made for an older version of android, and won’t let me download
That’s odd, but also it isn’t the first time someone tells me that a game is outdated while seeming to be fine on my end. May I ask what device and Android version you use?
Thanks for reporting this by the way!
Underhand seems to be outdated
What does it say? It looks good on my end, with Android 14.
Can I suggest Drill Down
Yes, I’ll add this as it’s also FOSS. Thank you!
If you have other suggestions, next time please also provide a link to the game. This one has been delisted fron the Play Store so I found it on itch.io
By cross-referencing Chat GPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and the OG Google search, I’ve added the 120 FPS indicator (as 120FPS
) to the handful of titles that support it in my list of premium games. Took me a couple hours to go through the bullshit they were spitting out, but it beats checking 100+ games one by one lol
I’m not sure any of the titles in the list of FREE games support 120 FPS, but I’ll double check.
Keep in mind that, as I found out during the process, if a games doesn’t support 120 FPS now, doesn’t mean it never will. The 120 FPS support to some games has been added long after release.
It’s still time-consuming and hard work, because I’ll have to check on ALL games in the list. I can’t just do it with some, or it will be confusing. I will think about it.
In the meanwhile you can:
check this list of 120fps games from June 2020: https://www.smartprix.com/bytes/best-android-games-higher-refresh-rate-phones-for-with-90hz-or-120hz-display-phones/
try asking Chat GPT or Perplexity. They can make a list similar to mine and divided it into genre, however I’m not sure to what degree they’re reliable
No, sorry. It would be too hard to check on all games and it’d be too niche.
That’s awesome! Also one of the reasons why I started these lists, to not forget games myself XD
You’re welcome :)
Unciv is there in the list, under Strategy. It’s on the Play Store too.
I shall add F-droid, github and any other source too when I have time, but I’ll need help from the community because I don’t know many of those
Correct!
Some other recent PC ports are Balatro, Hitman: Bloodmoney Reprisal, Gordian Quest, Xcom 2, Wreckfest, GRID and GRID Legends, Slice & Dice, Company of Heroes, Total War games.
Older PC ports: Baldur’s Gate, Star Wars KOTOR 1 and 2 (they were free on Android Epic Store BTW), Stardew Valley, Slay the Spire, Dicey Dungeons, Dead Cells, Mindustry, and others.
For console ports, there’s lots more, especially from Quare Enix and Capcom, but not only! For example the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters (from 1 to 6), Final Fantasy 8, Chrono Trigger, Trials of Mana, Dragon Quest series, Dragon Quest Monsters, Monster Hunter Stories, SaGa series, Valkyrie Profile, Ghost Trick, Ace Attorney, Professor Layton, Castlevania SOTN, Lara Croft Guardian of Light, Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath, etc.
Same! There’s quite a few of those on the Play Store, and they’re porting them at a faster rate nowadays.
For a Poco phone yes, but still way below famous flagships prices with those specs.
You can sideload these games and some of them will still work. I know I played Ridiculous Fishing a couple months ago on my S23+ with Android 14. It had few glitches, but it was perfectly playable and enjoyable.
What I’m sure you can’t play is Chaos Rings 1 and 2, and it’s an absolute disgrace. I’ve even tried with VM and PPSSPP (as they were released on PSP too), but no luck. Only way is PC probably.
Thankfully, Chaos Rings 3 is still up on the Play Store and compatible. It is a masterpiece with an absurdly beautiful OST and excellent story. If you like JRPGs and you haven’t played it, I urge you to do so before it’s too late.
What is a “quit button”?
Not sure if that’s sarcastic, but it’s a button you tap so the browser will quit/close/exit. Most browsers (including FF and its forks) have it, and it can be configured so that it clears personal browsing data (such as history, tabs, cookies, cache) upon quitting the session.
Oh I haven’t tried those two yet. Thanks for the links!
It depends how important the tab bar feature is to you
Well, it’s very handy I’d say, and more effective than tab switcher
Firefox has pretty much every other feature you’ve listed there
To quit in Firefox I have to tap to open a menu, then scroll down twice, then tap “quit”. Samsung Internet let me place the quit button on the main bar so it’s instantaneous. I figure I could do without this as I’m actually not quitting that often
Vivaldi has all of the functionality but isn’t FOSS and is potentially less private. It would still be a lot better than Samsung Internet in those areas, though
Yeah Vivaldi is the closest one to Samsung’s experience. But still tap and scroll for the quit button, and the adblocker (with uBlock and adguard filters) doesn’t seem as effective as those in Samsung Internet.
I might be settling for Fennec eventually, as the uBlock extension is probably better than any feature in Vivaldi. I wish there was a browser that had it all, but none yet!
Thanks. I’ve heard of Peglin, but it’s got kinda mixed reviews on the web. So I’m not too sure about adding it to the list.
Have you played it for some time, and still enjoy it? Some reviewers said it lacks content for a $10 game.
Whoops that’s correct. I’ll fix it with main repo link, thanks
