So it’s creating and adding new data that didn’t exist in the original image, presumably using “AI” since it requires a server-side update.

I’d like access to serial port over USB for running 3D printers and robots off of devices that would otherwise be e-waste, but it’s hit-or-miss and the battery charging problem that was already mentioned here.

Rip out your USB port and use wireless charging. It at least slows the authorities down, they would have to fix the port first.
